Originally from South West France's Madiran appellation, Tannat has found a new home in Uruguay, where it's revered as the "national grape." Its unique tannin profile, often accompanied by floral notes, is a standout feature.
Pair it with hearty, high-protein, and high-fat dishes like beef, sausage, cassoulet, roasted lamb, duck confit, and aged cheese to balance its intensity and amplify the richness of the meal.
The Taste
AROMA: Violets, mulberry, blueberry and plum with hints of choc mint, eucalypt and cola.
PALATE: An elegant yet powerful wine with an abundance of fruit and tannin. It displays both red and blue berry fruit flavours, with hints of rhubarb, plum skin and dark chocolate. This is a wine for those who enjoy chalky tannins or have the patience to cellar.
